How We Came to Be
In April 2007, the Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) announced its plans to form a 50-50 joint venture, combining the number one polystyrene producer in the Americas with the number two styrene producer in the Americas. Americas Styrenics is a company with great advantages.

The parent companies envisioned this joint venture to be the leading integrated producer of polystyrene— building on the wealth of manufacturing, commercial and technological expertise of its parent companies to create the market leader in the Americas.  

What We Do
Building on more than 130 combined years of the manufacturing, commercial and technological expertise of its legacies, Americas Styrenics provides improved product solutions to fulfill tough demands and open avenues to new applications. Americas Styrenics produces and sells styrene monomer, along with a variety of general purpose, high impact and high-performance polystyrene resins, to meet the needs of a diverse market. 

Americas Styrenics is a leader in the thermoforming, extrusion and injection molding markets. It offers a multitude of products in a range of applications, including consumer electronics, building and construction, health and hygiene, appliances and packaging. Our legendary sales, technical support and dedicated research and development teams are here to provide customers with the innovative expertise.

Polystyrene - Torrance, California; Gales Ferry, Connecticut; Ironton, Ohio; Joliet, Illinois; Marietta, Ohio; Guaruja, Brazil and Cartagena, Colombia 

Styrene Monomer - St. James, Louisiana
